I have received several emails asking me about me, what makes me tick, my ethnic background etc. A lot of you guys thought I was Japanese! LOL if only! I am actually a westerner if I am honest, but I see myself as an enlightened westerner. I try to adhere to the Japanese way of life, my hero is 'Beat' Takeshi Kitano. He was involved in a serious car crash and still walked 20 miles to the nearest hospital, then insisted on dressing his own wounds, with NO ANAESTHETIC. Despite the serious accident, in which his torso was severed in two, he was back filming the VERY NEXT DAY, and has continued to master looking disinterested and inscrutible in his subsequent movies. Western actors like Robert DeNiro clearly copied Kitano's 'method acting' technique.
My handle is Kazuya16749 on MSN and Yahoo. I wanted to represent myself with an Japanese name as they have much more power than western names, which have only existed for the past 400 years. Unfortunatley my Mum and dad are both western and decided to call me Kevin, but my handle to all my buddies is Kaz. Even the teachers at school call me Kaz, otherwise I don't answer them! People are slowly accepting my Eastern side.
My best friend at school is Yuhei, he is a very quiet, inscrutible and studious guy with glasses, but I think he's cool. Unfortunately, he is not proficient at Karate, which must be pretty unusual, but he is great at videogames, particularly Beamani (Rhythm-Action). He PWNS everyone at DDR!I keep telling him to spike his hair up and die the ends gold, but he seems to prefer a side-parting. We tend to chill at his house and watch Mangas together. We just sit directly on the floor, no chairs! Sometimes we play on his PS2, which is the Japanese version! That means that the games for it tend to have slightly different artwork and are in japanese! Ironically, they still cater for us westerners by having English headings on some of the menus! It's fun navigating through menus when you don't know what they mean, it's almost a game in itself!
My main plans in life are to go to Akihabara and drink inn all that is cool about Japan! OK so I know that there are lots of mobile phone stalls in Hounslow, but they are all ran by brown people, not Japanese people :( Speaking of Hounslow, I go into CEX every morning and ask what new Japanese games from Japan have come in. Some of the staff members give me dirty looks because I think they realise that I am FAR more knowledgable than them! I normally hang around in there for a couple of hours an evening with Yuhei, playing DDR. I keep trying to save up so that I can actually go to Japan, but I end up spending most of my income on Japanese memorabilia from Ebay instead.
Apart from spending my time hanging with Yuhei, I also draw anime characters. I particularly like drawing the scantily-clad babes :) It's just sad that western women don't look like that. That's why I'm holding out for a Japanese girlfriend. Perhaps when I'm braver, I'll post some of the animes I have drawn on this very website! Watch this space and thanks for reading!
